Martin Giles
Principal Physiotherapist
B. Phty (2227311H)
“My passion lies in assessing and diagnosing musculoskeletal injuries, providing education, hands-on treatment, and therapeutic exercise to restore function, relieve pain, and improve quality of life. The greatest reward comes from helping people recover, regain confidence in their movement, and return to doing what they love.”
Marty graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from The University of Queensland in 1997 and brings over 28 years of clinical experience to his role as Principal Physiotherapist at Bundaberg Physiotherapy Centre.
With a strong sporting background, Marty has extensive experience supporting local sporting teams and athletes. Over the years, he has worked with Bundaberg Basketball, Gymfinity Gymnastics, Bundaberg Swim Team, Elliott Heads Surf Life Saving Club, Shalom College QISSRL and Across the Waves Junior Rugby League. His broad experience across a range of sports has given him a strong understanding of sports injuries, rehabilitation and the demands of athletic performance.
Marty is passionate about patient education and long-term recovery, helping people understand their bodies and develop practical strategies to support their health and wellbeing. He strongly believes in the importance of ongoing strength and cardiovascular training, adapted to suit each individual's abilities, age and injury status.
When he isn't in the clinic...
Marty enjoys gym and resistance training, surfing, offshore fishing, travel and, of course, coffee. He also enjoys a good McLaren Vale Shiraz, a wide variety of music and following his children's sporting commitments wherever they may take him.
With more than 25 years of personal experience in gym-based training, Marty is passionate about helping people establish healthy habits that can support their wellbeing throughout life. His philosophy is simple: “When it comes to exercise and healthy eating, there is no such thing as a day off.”
